Eglwys y Santes Fair, sy’n agos at bentref bach Brynteg, yw hen “fam-eglwys” plwyf Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf, sy’n cynnwys Benllech. Mae'r adeilad yn dyddio o'r cyfnod canoloesol ac, er ei fod ychydig y tu allan i bentref Benllech, mae'r lleoliad delfrydol mewn llannerch wrth ymyl nant yn rhoi argraff o bellenigrwydd.

Mae gan y Santes Fair gysylltiadau â’r bardd enwog Goronwy Owen a oedd yn gyn gurad.

St Mary’s Church, close to the small village of Brynteg, is the former “mother church” of the parish of Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf, which includes Benllech. The building is medieval in origin and, although just outside Benllech village, the idyllic setting in a glade beside a stream gives an impression of remoteness.

St Mary’s has connections with the celebrated Welsh poet Goronwy Owen who was a former curate.
